LakeVisions is a forum for sharing information and generating ideas with the intention of helping to preserve the natural beauty of the Canandaigua Watershed for generations beyond us to enjoy.
Anyone who has lived in the Canandaigua Watershed area for any length of time would agree that this part of the world is a very special place. Apart from the obvious summer lakeside activities, there is much more to this valley than June, July and August would suggest. Whether it is the sheer beauty and majesty of the forest clad hills; the blue-green waters of our glacial lake; the (still mostly) rural way of life; or whether, as the Seneca Indians felt, this is a ‘chosen place’; there is something about this area that draws us to it and begs us to try to protect it.
This is a watershed moment for our Watershed. Currently the Lake and its environs are under increasing environmental and developmental pressures. There are certain things that each of us can do:
LET US KNOW. If you know of information that would be useful to the well-being of the Watershed, let us know and we will put it on this site.
